Young Ford, Inc. was founded in 1952 by Fred Young. The dealership was located at 318 West 5th Street, Charlotte NC.

In 1958 Young Ford purchased property at the corner of Brevard and Stonewall Streets in Charlotte. A new facility was constructed and the dealership moved to it new location in 1960. Charles D. Young became president and dealer in 1962.

In 1965, the dealership acquired the facing corner on Brevard and Stonewall, on which it established it used car operation and built a body shop. The dealership continued to occupy its location on the two corners of Brevard and Stonewall until September of 1990, when it moved to its present location on North Tryon Street. In 1991 Charles Young Retired and F. Richard Young II became president of the company. In 2005 Richard Young II retired and David N. Young became the president of the company and the dealer.

Young Ford is one of the oldest remaining locally-owned businesses and the second oldest automobile dealership in Charlotte. Throughout its long history, Young Ford has been committed to serve both its community and it customers.
