Outstanding
by Robah on Friday, December 10, 2021
I recently traded my GV80 because I'm retired and needed to dial back on spending. I've owned several other high end luxury vehicles. The Genesis stands out as the best I've owned. It has far to many features to mention in this review, but needless to say I wasn't missing anything. The comfort, the ride, the performance was absolutely stellar. Comparing apples and oranges, this was definitely waiting to be peeled. The value associated with this Genesis was unsurpassed. - 5.0
Excellent first impressions
by BoilerUp! on Thursday, January 14, 2021
After three weeks, I have been nothing but impressed with the GV80 3.5t Prestige. Style, comfort, and power are top-notch. The quality of the interior is unbelievable. The adaptive cruise control is excellent. I thought it would overreach to cars merging into my lane but it is smooth to adjust to the speed of the merging car. If the car is moving even a little faster, the system doesn't adjust my speed. Acceleration and power are perfect for me. A bit less than the middle engines of the German models but everything I want at a great price. If you want more, I recommend a sports car, not a SUV. Great space in front and back seats. The infotainment system took a week or so to fully understand. Now that everything is set for my profile, I rarely touch it. The active noise cancelling and 21 Lexicon audio system is amazing. Its like you are at the concert with no crowd (road) noise. The one small negative is the driver assist system being slow to turn into a curve. I tended to start the turn entering the curve, the system waits until the car has fully entered the curve before it responds. I am eager to see if the AI system learns from my driving behavior and adjusts. The system works great when the freeway is reasonably straight. It will let me ride for up to 10 minutes without indicating I need to put my hands on the wheel. If you are looking to buy a great luxury SUV for yourself and not impress others with the badge, this is the one. - 4.0
GV80 2.5T 2wd with Prestige and Advanced package
by DeanT on Thursday, April 14, 2022
I have the GV80 2.5T 2wd with the Prestige and Advanced package and it is a fantastic SUV, I am very happy with it overall. I feel the value in comparison to the ML350 and X5 I had is very good. The GV80 does suffer from a lack of refinement that other luxury brands have from years of building cars. The engine stop and restart is rough, the accelerator is sometimes not as smooth as it should be and the adaptive cruise will accelerate hard when changing lanes(I have tried to make changes in the driving style function and it has not helped). On the plus side, the electronics and other drive controls are far superior and easy to use, I would like wireless apple car play though. The paint quality could be better, it chips and marks easily. One last wish, that the roof vent could be opened without the sun shield needing to be opened all the way. The service department is a huge letdown, it really hurts the brand and seems to be a common problem(I went to Braman Genesis in Miami).
